Protection:  The easiest way to detect Carbon Monoxide in your home and protect your family from Carbon Monoxide poisoning is to install a Carbon Monoxide Detector.  When choosing a Carbon Monoxide Detector, be sure it meets Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. standards; and is easily self tested and reset.  We recommend that you have your Carbon Monoxide Detector tested annually.  Effective January 1, 2007, a new Illinois State Law will take effect that states, “any home, duplex, apartment complex, etc. (dwelling), will be required to have at least 1 Carbon Monoxide Detector within 15 feet of every room used for sleeping.  You can view the complete law at http://landmarkmm.net/id65.html.
